Tuesday night was a blast.
Since closing a Series A funding round of $13 Million, we’ve been hiring like crazy and while we’ve recently acquired some fantastic new talent, we’re still hiring more. We still have many roles to fill, so we thought what better way to attract talent than by showcasing who we are as a company and host a hiring fair. It was an incredible night and we’d love to share some highlights from it.
The Set Up
We started setting up that morning and there was a buzz in the air all day long. It’s been an exciting couple of months for us Payfirmites. We have some incredible projects coming through the pipeline and need as many hands as we can to make those projects a reality. Fresh, eager talent is always welcome; we were excited to talk payments and meet visionaries as excited about Fintech as we are.
The Food
Because nothing goes better with great conversation than great food, we had some of our customers provide us with just that. Feast your eyes on the spread from Savoury Chef, donuts from Cartems and ice cold brews from Hoyne Brewing. We’re clearly foodies here!
The Massage
At Payfirma we work hard and while we absolutely love the work we do, sitting at a desk all day can take it’s toll on our bodies. We have a great benefits package here and wanted to highlight that by offering free massages at the fair. It goes without saying they were a hit! I even snuck one in at the end of the night. Thanks to Stew for coming out and working some magic!
The Photobooth
What hiring fair would be complete without a photoshoot? Everyone needs a great LinkedIn photo and we were there to help attendees look their best. Skot, our Salesforce administrator and resident photographer, took the photos and made sure everyone looked great! It was like picture day at school all over again.
The Job Booths
Each department had their own booth. There were amazing conversations had by everyone. All departments were so impressed with the enthusiasm attendees had for the Vancouver tech space. There is so much innovation happening in Vancouver right now and it was great to meet fellow visionaries.
The Speech
The night wouldn’t be complete without a speech from our CEO Michael Gokturk. Entrepreneurship runs through his veins, as it does for many Payfirma customers. Michael shared his wish for all Payfirma customers to grow their business. He highlighted how everyone at Payfirma is playing a vital role in making that happen and if you want to work here, you’ve got to care about the customer. After all, one of our company credos is “Just Make The Customer Happy”.
The Draw
To end the night there was a draw for a pretty epic prize pack that included a GoPro Hero, Bluetooth speakers, 2 Payfirma Tee shirts, a Payfirma keychain, orange mug, The Metronome Effect book and a Jolt Charger. A big congrats to the winner, Denise Wong.
