Marketing Specialist
Opportunity
Payfirma is an award winning financial technology startup based in Vancouver. We develop technology that lets any business accept credit and debit cards in their stores, online or on a mobile or tablet device.
The Marketing Specialist will do research, as necessary to complement existing database information and to determine appropriate organizational hierarchy, titles, and names in major retail and eCommerce organizations. Then he or she will make outbound calls to these organizations and navigate through the organization to the appropriate decision makers to create awareness of our products, gather information about customer needs and generate appointments. The goal of the calling will be to establish a closing call or appointment with client prospects for the sales team to manage. Training and messaging will be provided by the sales and marketing team. Detailed and accurate lead records and call summary will be input into SalesForce. In addition, there will be basic awareness calling related to trade shows and other marketing programs and activities
Primary Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary resource for the researching and prospecting of qualified new business leads via Internet, media, directories, referrals and other resource material
- Responsible for identifying, contacting, and tracking prospective clients, generating leads and qualifying high-quality business opportunities for the sales team via outbound phone calls
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of Payfirma portfolio of products in order to move the customer to the next level of the sales cycle
- Upon contacting a prospective client, probe to understand business needs and have the ability to identify opportunities to pair those needs with Payfirma products/services
- Monitor industry trends, competitive intelligence and market conditions relative to specific service offering(s) and communicate appropriately to departmental and organizational leaders
- Process and maintain leads in prospecting database for weekly reporting
- Work with Marketing teams to create process to aggressively follow-up on print and direct mail campaigns
Requirements
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
- Fluent in the English language with secondary language proficiency preferred
- Demonstrated flexibility to adapt to a constantly changing environment
- Experience using Salesforce.com is highly recommended
- You are willing to be hands-on with HTML and CSS
- Proficient in Microsoft office products
- Exceptionally strong work ethic and ability to be flexible on working hours
- Positive, energetic and outgoing personality
Compensation
Compensation package is commensurate with experience. Employee will be paid a competitive base salary, potential commissions and annual bonuses.
